Recently I’ve been hearing the name Shannon Slaughter as I listen to Mountain Morning with Jerry McNeely on WNCW 88.9. This got me thinking about a history teacher that I had when I was a student at Wilkes Central High School. So I got on line and checked it out and come to find out it is the same guy! I remember Coach Slaughter being a very nice man and enjoying his class. I am now a teacher myself and a mother. While my son is only 6 months old, my husband and I’ve already decided that he is going to play the banjo. Keep up the good work Coach Slaughter and I hope that you keep reach people threw teaching as well as your music.
