Heather Slaughter (Bass/ mandolin/ vocals)Heather was raised in East Central Alabama in the town of Argo singing at the early age of 2. She began playing guitar under her father's tutelage at age 11. She later graduated to mandolin, becoming a standout performer on that instrument, and eventually bass. She possesses great tone in her playing and singing and her unique stylings are a focal point of the County Clare sound.
Her vocal influences include George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Keith Whitley. A multi-instrumentalist, Heather is a fluid mandolin player who cites Adam Steffey as a major influence in her playing. Her impeccable timing, tone and taste on the upright bass provides the solid rhythmic foundation for County Clare.
Heather released a solo recording in 2008 entitled I Meant It, upon which she is the featured mandolinist. She self-penned several cuts on that cd and assists in songwriting duties in County Clare.
