Shannon Slaughter & County Clare is a band that believes in great singing and harmony..... They vary between high-energy, driving bluegrass and traditional style country duets. County Clare mixes in fresh, original material that is written primarily by Slaughter (winner of the prestigious 2012 Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at MerleFest) and recognizable bluegrass and traditional country favorites. County Clare features an immensely talented core group of musicians and singers. Members are --- Shannon Slaughter on guitar and vocals; his wife Heather Slaughter on mandolin and vocals; John Boulware on fiddle and vocals; Blake Bowen on bass and vocals; and Casey Murray on banjo. They have recorded and performed with some of the best in the bluegrass business, calling as former employers the likes of the Lonesome River Band, The Country Gentlemen, Lou Reid and Carolina, Larry Stephenson, and Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper. |
