Ron Inscore (Mandolin/ Vocals)

Ron grew up in the foothills of southwest Virginia and began playing mandolin at age 11. His definitive timing and tone are an integral part of the County Clare sound and have helped him become one of the premier mandolin players often sought by some of todays most influential musicians and vocalists. At a young age, he performed with his cousin John Bowman in and around Mt. Airy, NC at a variety of venues.  He was a vital member of the Country Boys, a local group that featured his innovative mandolin style.

He was a founding member of Savannah Road, a local band he formed along with Shannon Slaughter and can be heard on their independent release "Dreams and Dreamers".  He went on to play with the award-winning After 5 band as well.  He limits his time on the road due to job constraints but his playing remains as dynamic as ever.

He has also performed and recorded with many nationally known acts such as Lou Reid & Carolina, Mountain Heart, The Kenny & Amanda Smith Band, The Mark Newton Band, The Jeanette Williams Band and Melonie Cannon (with whom he and Shannon Slaughter played the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium).

Ron was instrumental in putting County Clare together and is excited about performing with other talented musicians and singers. In his spare time Ron enjoys spending time with his wife, Tonya, driving in the mountains, working on his farm, and trout fishing in various locales around his native state of Viriginia.

"He's just a great musician and singer...  He has the uncanny ability to know exacty what and when to play and when not to.  I've been playing music with Ron for over 20 years and he remains my favorite mandolin player....  His chop is stout and grooves; and his solos are always tasteful and clean."  ~~ Shannon Slaughter
